Strength and Conditioning
Cornwall High Performance has a wealth of experience working with many different sporting populations across the South West. Athletes have approached us for assistance from Athletics, Hockey, Tennis, Netball, Volleyball, Rowing and Ironman, to name a few.
More recently, we developed training for Porthtowan Men’s Surfboat crew to obtain a world title, something they had never achieved until working with us. As a result, we are now working with the Falmouth Pilot Gig Club and, more specifically, current World Champions, the Men’s A crew.
Whatever your chosen sport, CHP will conduct a detailed athlete analysis to outline specific areas to address. This, combined with needs for your sport, will be looked at in detail and a specific plan created to establish the best way forward for you to succeed.
Cornwall High Performance offers personal training for the general population and has done for many years now. The business has been built on word of mouth, allowing our work ethic and quality training methods to speak for themselves.
We treat all clients in exactly the same manner – whatever your requirements you will go through a detailed assessment process, starting with body composition and static posture. From there, we will conduct muscle length tests and a movement analysis to establish if there are any deficits to work on. Some basic performance testing, depending on ability, will then be carried out to determine a benchmark for your strength and aerobic capabilities. Following this assessment, the journey to a better you can begin, with effective programming and realistic goal setting.
Sports and Remedial Massage
Cornwall High Performance offers the highest standard soft tissue therapy. Recovery is just as important as training and massage should also be considered if sport and exercise are a regular part of your life.
Treatment with CHP involves the use of advanced soft tissue techniques in conjunction with exercise advice for rehabilitation and management of muscular-skeletal problems. These may be caused by sport, work, trauma, disorder, general activity and/or posture. Our treatments will always take into consideration the source of the problem, which often isn’t found at the site of pain.
Following assessment and treatment, the practitioner will take the client through an exercise programme, if necessary, to be followed at home or in a gym setting. In some cases our therapist may choose to refer to one of our affiliated physiotherapists or osteopaths.
Treatment with CHP is effective in the treatment and management of:
- Neck problems
- Arthritic conditions
- Repetitive strain Injuries
- Sporting or occupational injuries
- Postural imbalances
- General maintenance of muscular-skeletal imbalances
